Shhh, You'll Wake the Baby = "Settle down" or "Be quiet." This was something my Dad always said to youngsters who got a bit noisy in the house. Most of the time there wasn't a baby anywhere near. Shhh, you'll wake the baby was always a very gentle way of reminding children that they were in the house and if they wanted to horse around they should probably go outside. LOL... I tried it tonight and got the funniest look from Peanut. "what baby?" she asked.
"it's just an expression" I told her. She was satisified with the explination, but you should have seen that look!
Cute! I can just picture the look on her face.
